FSY conference participants and staff are expected to follow the standards outlined in For the Strength of Youth: A Guide for Making Choices, as well as any campus-specific guidelines. This includes the following:
• Be neat, clean, modest, and appropriate in your clothing and grooming.
• Do not wear clothing that is tight, sheer, or revealing.
• Do not wear short shorts or short skirts.
• Make sure your shirt covers your stomach and your shoulders.
• Do not wear clothing that is low-cut in the front or back.
• Avoid being extreme or inappropriately casual in clothing, hairstyle, or behaviour.
• Do not wear body piercings. (Young women may wear one pair of earrings; young men should not wear earrings.)
• Footwear should be appropriate for the activity and worn in all public areas.
• For activities where Sunday dress is required, wear clothing that will show respect for the Lord and yourself. Dress appropriately, as you would when attending sacrament services.
If youth do not follow the guidelines, they will be asked to change.
“Our clothing expresses who we are. It sends messages about us, and it influences the way we and others act. When we are well groomed and modestly dressed, we can invite the companionship of the Spirit and exercise a good influence on those around us.”
